…..and Christmas is coming. The harbour has the Christmas lights up, and many homes in the village as well. Met my friends Skow and Bill Chowen at Chapters the other day. I miss the old days when we went for beers after work. Health and life problems seem to get in the way. Mo is in the states for the weekend shopping in Pennsylvania with her friends. Crowds of ambulatory credit cards!
I am beginning a campaign to promote the casita in Costa Rica by means of kijiji.ca, Craigslist.com, and business cards for gall.ca
Like to get the place rented in the winter, or at least occupied….by people interested in what Costa Rica has to offer.
Got a short length cast iron bathtub for the lower bathroom, just gotta refurb it and do the install….
Amanda is busy with her design stuff in Toronto, living the life…..
Dreaing about a tug boat for next year. rangertugs.com
21 ft, red hull…….
I am in a lull on the Reno front, nothing for December, both bathrooms scheduled for January or February.
Lookin at the new Honda 700cc m/c as well…..
My father has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and has the horizon ahead of him. Not an enjoyable journey for me and causing me some deep thought.
Anyway, more to come……and enough for now.
November 2012
Wow…..haven’t posted for quite a while. Still modifying the house in Port, driving to Toronto and Detroit airports, and trying to rent out the place down south. Trying to update the site here, and will get back into the blog scene come winter (when the renovatons slow down a bit)……. Dreaming about getting a boat for next year.
Some fish
Port Stanley stuff….
Poor weather lately, but good for getting minnows from the harbour for bait. Perfect sized shiners for perch bait later in the summer. Froze a large number so far. Nobody fishing so far……
Driving for Robert Q today to Pearson airport. And driving for Moore Water Gardens tomorrow. Windsor, I think.
Got an e-mail from Lee in Costa Rica, he and Amanda seem to be having a good time. Hard not to, I think…..
Got the garden laid out in the rear yard for vegetables, had to bring in a ton of compost, and now have to til it under prior to the planting season.
Got the M/C home from Dorchester, running well, new battery to get it going. Should be out riding this weekend.
New Website
Thanks to my son Mike, the website is new and capable of being updated from any computer. The former site was Mac based, and rather difficult to manage. The hope is to be able to post more frequently and update photos, etc as time marches on.
The cabina has been rented out a couple of times, and at present Amanda and Lee are enjoying it on their trip to Costa Rica.
Mo and I are currently renovating a 50 yr old house in Port Stanley, and have begun to do some outside work in the nice weather. The place has been lived in by the same people since it was built, and needs to be updated. Good strong house with a nice location slightly away from the main beach area.
New Blog design! | Gall.ca
You will soon see updated posts, stay tuned!
Cabina crazy
The cabina is finished, and ready to be enjoyed. I will be making information available to enable people to reside there on their vacation to Costa Rica, and will give more information when the plans “gel”. Suffice it to say, that my friends will be allowed to use the place at a VERY affordable rate, and their every need will be attended to!
